Tokyo is distinctive among the regions, allowing for some municipal services point of a larger municipality, as marked out by Japanese law.
Tokyo, the first city of Japan, is 1 of the biggest urban centers of the earth with a population of more than twelve million. Its extensive history of success started with the setting up of the shogunate by Tokugawa Ieyasu in early 16th century. At that point in time, Tokyo was originally called Edo, which by the 18th century also had grown up to a massive inner city with over a million inhabitance. As the earth stretches from east to west, there are rises, grassy plateaus, and beautiful mountains scattered around the capital.

The sheer size of it and chaotic pace of greater Tokyo can put off the first time tourist. Much of the capital is a maze of structural concrete and electrical wires, with a lot of colorful neon and blaring speakers. At every rush hour, huge groups jostle in packed trains and masses of human beings stretch through huge and bewilderingly complicated stations. Don't get overly hung up up on checking off traveler sights off your extensive list: for most foreign visitors, the most important part of the Tokyo experience is just walking around at random and feeling the vibe, pushing your head into mysterious shops selling unusual and amazing things, trying out wonderful restaurants where you can't identify a single item on the list of options (or on your serving plate) , and across surprising oases of quiet in the peaceful tranquil grounds of a historic neighborhood Shinto temple. It's all absolutely safe, and many locals will go to occasionally extraordinary lengths to assist you if you simply ask.
