Hiroshima (広島) was brought into being in 1589 on the vast delta created by the Ota River, flow out to the beautiful Seto Inland sea by Mori Terumoto,
who established it his headquarters after finally leaving Koriyama Castle. Hiroshima Castle once was rapidly erected, and Terumoto went in 1593.
The fort passed to Asano Nagaakira in 1619, and Asano was chosen the daimyo of this unique area.
Under Asano regime, the city prospered, improved, and spread out, with not many military conflicts. Asano's descendants continued to run until the Meiji Renovation in the nineteenth century.
It turned into a major trade center and 1 of Japan's greater urban centers in the Meiji era.
During World war TWO , the Second and Chugoku Regional Armys were based in Hiroshima, and the Army Marine Headquarters was positioned at Ujina port.

On Mon, Aug 6 , 1945 , the nuclear bomb "Little Boy" was dropped on Hiroshima by the American B-29 bomber Enola Gay, instantly killing an officially estimated 80 thousand inesent people.

Now Hiroshima is a modern city of wide avenues, crossing rivers and a crowded city center. It is situated along the sea coast of the beautiful Seto Inland Sea in the Chugoku region of western Japanese Islands.
Although many people only really know it for the terrible split second on hot August 6th, when it turned into the place of the world's 1st atomic bomb attack, it is today a new, cosmopolitan city with a great food and night life.
